As a Kiwi kiving in Australia, I was thinking about ‘home’ when I painted this piece. But more than a place, a country, it was the sense of coming home to oneself, to the place that feels most like home that I wanted to portray. And of course it is a jumble of things past, present and future. But it is a story of courage also, of following your path, and that sense of peace, the serenity of being and becoming, and recognising in yourself the journey that has brought you there…to the very moment in time when you sense a return to yourself and the future is laid out in dreams ahead of you.
